Privacy Policy

Effective Date: November 3, 2026 | Last Updated: November 3, 2026

Important Notice

VerseStream is purely an open-source media player/stream engine, we do not host or upload any media. We do not track or log what media streams, files, or videos you view locally on your device. Your playback activity remains entirely private on your personal hardware.

1. Introduction

VerseStream ("we," "our," or "us") is dedicated to protecting your personal privacy. This Privacy Policy details our practices concerning information collection, usage, and protection when you use our official website (versestreamapp.com) and our open-source Android applications.

2. Information We Collect

We practice data minimization and only collect information essential for application operation:

  • Authentication Information (Optional): If you sign in via Google OAuth, we receive basic profile info (email and display name) strictly to manage your multi-device sync and bookmarks.
  • Local Device Preferences: Settings such as audio track preferences, default subtitle language, hardware decoder options, and interface themes are stored locally on your device storage.
  • Anonymous Crash & Performance Telemetry: In case of unexpected crashes, anonymous system specs (Android OS version, CPU architecture, crash stack trace) may be logged to help our open-source maintainers debug issues.

3. What We Do NOT Collect

To maintain utmost privacy and compliance:

  • We do NOT monitor, record, or track your personal viewing history or stream URLs.
  • We do NOT access your device contacts, photo galleries, microphone, or camera.
  • We do NOT sell, rent, or trade your personal information with third-party advertisers or brokers.
  • We do NOT collect financial or payment card data.

4. Third-Party Integrations & External Content

VerseStream functions as an open-source media player engine that parses streams provided by external third-party servers. When you stream from or interact with an external third-party server, that third-party server may receive your standard network IP address and HTTP headers. VerseStream is not responsible for the privacy practices or content policies of any external hosts.

5. Data Security & Encryption

We employ industry-standard security protocols, including TLS 1.3 encryption for any web data transit. However, please remember that no transmission method over the Internet is 100% impenetrable.

6. Your Rights & Data Deletion (GDPR & CCPA)

Under global privacy regulations (including GDPR and CCPA), you hold the right to:

  • Request access to any personal data associated with your Google sign-in.
  • Request permanent deletion of your account and synced preferences.
  • Revoke OAuth application permissions at any time through your Google Account security dashboard.

To request full deletion of account data, email us at: privacy@versestreamapp.com.
