Terms of Use
Effective Date: November 3, 2026 | Last Updated: November 3, 2026
VerseStream is purely an open-source media player/stream engine, we do not host or upload any media. VerseStream operates strictly as a client-side playback tool (similar to open-source media players like VLC or Kodi) that executes on the user's local device. All media streams, URLs, or metadata are retrieved directly from third-party networks or user-provided sources. VerseStream neither owns, controls, stores, nor transmits any copyrighted video or audio content on its servers.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By downloading, installing, accessing, or using the VerseStream application, website (versestreamapp.com), or any affiliated open-source components, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to these terms in full, do not install or use the software.
2. Nature of Software & Non-Hosting Architecture
VerseStream is an open-source, client-side streaming engine and media player software designed for Android, Android TV, and Fire TV devices. VerseStream does not maintain any media servers, does not host video or audio files, does not operate streaming infrastructure, and does not upload, index, or distribute copyrighted media files. The application functions solely as an interface and media playback pipeline for content available on the World Wide Web or provided directly by the end user.
3. User Responsibility & Lawful Use
As an open-source player engine, VerseStream leaves complete control of playback in the hands of the end user. By using VerseStream, you explicitly agree that:
- You will only access media that you have the legal right, authorization, or license to stream or view in your jurisdiction.
- You will not use the software to violate any international copyright law, digital intellectual property rights, or licensing agreements.
- You assume all legal liability and responsibility for any content, streams, or media URLs accessed through the application.
- You will not reverse engineer, inject malicious software, or attempt to exploit the application framework.
4. Third-Party Services, APIs & External Links
The application and website may interface with independent third-party APIs (including public metadata databases such as The Movie Database - TMDB) and user-configured streaming endpoints. VerseStream has no control over, and assumes no responsibility for, the content, privacy policies, or practices of any third-party websites or services. Metadata, posters, and summaries are displayed for identification and informational fair-use purposes only.
5. DMCA & Copyright Compliance
VerseStream respects the intellectual property rights of copyright holders and complies with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA, 17 U.S.C. ยง 512). Because VerseStream is purely an open-source media player engine that does not host or store any media, we cannot remove content from external servers hosted by third parties.
However, if you are a copyright owner or an agent thereof and believe that any open-source code or project materials hosted on our official channels infringe upon your copyright, you may submit a formal notification to our designated agent:

VerseStream does not warrant that the application will function uninterrupted, error-free, or meet your specific requirements.
7. Limitation of Liability
In no event shall VerseStream, its contributors, developers, or affiliates be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including without limitation, loss of profits, data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses, resulting from (i) your access to or use of or inability to access or use the application; (ii) any content or streams obtained from third-party services; or (iii) unauthorized access, use, or alteration of your transmissions.
